This year we are celebrating 600th jayanthi of Thallapaka annamacharya.Sri Thallapaka Annamacharya(1408-1503)is an Indian poet and musician widely regarded as Telugu Padakavita Pitamaha(Grand old man of simple poetry).
An ardent devotee of Lord VENKATESWARA of Titupati ,Annamachrya successfully composed 32,000 Keertanas(a carnatic music compositions) which are very easy to understand and sing.
Annamacharya considered his compositions as floral offerings to God.In the poems he praises the Lord,describes his love for Alamelumanga and Lord venkateswara,argues and quarrels with lord,confesses the devotees failure and apprehensions and surrenders himself to Lord Venkateswara.
The Devine works of Annamacharya:
Sankeertanas in the form of Parama-Mantras,mostly in Telugu,few in Sanskrit.Mainly devided into 3 catogaries.
Yoga marga,Sringara rasa and Vairagya rasa.A total of 32,000 of such supreme devotional outpours.
He wrote the entire Ramayana in the form of  a poem called Dwipada Ramayana.
Glories of the Venkatachala Hill written in Sanskrit.Also made sringara manjari,Satakas,and Prabhandams in other languages.
