I was born and brought up in Hyderabad.even though my mother tongue is kannada,i know Telugu very well.after i got married i have learnt Tamil because my hubby belongs to Chennai.in 1998 we moved to Cochin.i was so excited to see Kerala.but my problem was the language. everybody used to speak only in malayalam.which was very difficult to understand. My first encounter was with my maid.I used to mix up all the south Indian languages and try to talk to her.she used to laugh at me.once a person was selling something in front of our house.i called him and went down taking my own time and gave him 10 rupees ,when he opened the basket i almost vomitted,because there were fish in the basket.i thought he was selling green vegetables.i told him i dont want and ran inside without taking back my money.he started shouting and our watchman told him that iam new to the place. I used to use sign language.then my sister has sent one book'learn Malayalam in 30 days'.we stayed there for 2 years but i could not learn malayalam.i can understand very well but can't speak. its ten years since my sister gave me the book  but  even after 10 years i could not learn.
In the year 2005 we went to Bhopal.There people speak only Hindi that too pure Hindi.My Hindi is Hyderabadi.We stayed in a beautiful colony where I had so many friends.everybody used to correct my Hindi,any way i have learnt good Hindi after staying there for 1 year.
Next year we went to Mumbai.The city of glamour,dreems,busy and beauty.I like this city very much.even my kids love Mumbai.
once Icalled a person from pest controll and another person to repair my oven.the microvave fellow called up and started speaking in marathi.i thought he is pest controll fellow.i told him to come on saturday and asked him whether he is using neem medicine which they will inject in cup boards for pests.he got so confused and asked me why should he inject neem medicine in oven?then i asked him who he is.he said he is calling from LG service centre.i said sorry bhayya i mistook u as pest controll fellow.everybody in my house had a great laugh.i try to speak little Marathi.I like the language.
I like to learn different languages.But still in a prosses of learning Malayalam.ha ha ha..........
